Being Introverted is a Natural state for some of us. It means we are thoughtful, sometimes analytical, and we are often very sensitive. Being shy, on the other hand, is a “learned” response, and is not necessarily synonymous with being Introverted. There are, in fact, shy Extroverts, and calm Introverts. There are Extroverts who are afraid to speak in front of a crowd, but other than that, they are not “shy” at all. Some Introverts are fine in front of a crowd, but clam up when it comes to one-on-one conversation.
Western culture has historically looked down on Introverts, and raised Extroverts up as heros. I believe that’s starting to change, and I’d like to help with the conversion! I don’t mean to imply that Introverts should overcome their thoughtfulness, and become outgoing and gregarious. What I mean is that our heroes can be thoughtful, creative, analytical, “in their head” kind of people. Introverts make exceptional leaders, especially when they are honored for their natural abilities. Introverts are generally great planners, and can be very detail-oriented. They generally need time alone to “recharge their batteries.” This can seem unusual in an environment that is used to having the energy of an Extroverted leader. If an Introverted Manager or CEO has an Extroverted Executive Assistant, together they can create even more success than an Extroverted Manager with an Introverted Assistant. I’ve seen this firsthand.
As children, we were often labeled from the get-go, and not always in a positive light. “You’re too loud.” “You’re too shy.” “Smile more!” “Don’t talk so much.” “Just DO it!” “Get your head out of the clouds.” And on and on. I think that Introverts suffer more because often they are quiet by nature, thoughtful, and attentive to details. So when an outgoing Extrovert comes along and says “Let’s get this done!” and proceeds to bulldoze through a project, the Introvert can be left feeling “less than,” “unappreciated,” and “overlooked.” Whereas, an Extrovert might say “Hey, I don’t like the way you’re doing that – let’s try it my way,” the Introvert often holds back from commenting, and ends up being overlooked.
I’m an Extrovert, and I’m talking about honoring the best in everyone. Let’s begin to see each person’s finest qualities and abilities, and know that the world needs each kind of person. A great leadership team is made up of both Introverts and Extroverts, and each person’s talents are maximized.
Now, if you’re shy, or afraid of speaking in front of a crowd, or if talking one-on-one makes you queasy, and if those things cause you anxiety, or keep you from accomplishing your dreams, I can help. Using EFT, I’d love to overcome your anxiety, and help you learn to “Speak Your Truth – Authentically!” I am in awe of how an Introverted speaker can capture the attention of a room with her quiet, calmness. And when an Extrovert overcomes their shyness, watch out, world! EFT is the BEST anti-anxiety, anti-stress prescription I’ve ever used. It’s easy, gentle, effective, powerful, and permanent. Call me if you’d like to learn more.
As I finished writing this post, I was sent this link. It’s like instructions for how to interact with an Introvert. Check it out!
An important aspect of manifesting is matching your energy vibration with what you want to attract into your life. Most people have a difficult time believing the idea that “whatever is going on in your life is a reflection of your thoughts, emotions and beliefs.” And you need to know that the Law of Attraction either works, or it doesn’t. There is no part-time Law of Attraction. But our unconscious mind is running the show most of the time, and there are a LOT of negative thoughts, emotions and beliefs residing in that part of our mind.
A powerful way to begin aligning your desires is to cut out a chunk of negativity. So I ask you to consider these areas as “gold mines” of negative emotions: Complaining, envy, jealousy, back-stabbing, and being judgmental. Often these are one big jumbled ball, and come out like this: “Did you see how she sucked up to the boss? I can’t believe her! And she’ll probably get the promotion, too! I could never be like that!” Or seemingly innocent complaining like, “Ah, this rain! I don’t think I can stand another day of it! And it just creates horrible traffic jams – people just don’t know how to drive in this kind of weather!”
There is a ton of energy in this type of talk, behavior and thinking. And it’s all negative. Even if you feel justified, I invite you to take a 30-day retreat from complaining. Don’t complain about anything! Not even in your thoughts. And even if you’re tempted to join in with someone else who is complaining, don’t do it. Just shift your mind to something positive. You’re gonna be surprised at how often you actually complain! If, after 30 days of not complaining you want to go back to your old behavior, be my guest. But I bet you’ll notice such an amazing difference in your life, that you won’t want to.
And if you find it difficult to not complain, use this simple tapping script when the urge comes up (it’s like fending off a craving!):
(Karate Chop Point):
ET (even thought) I want to complain, ID&CLAAM (I deeply and completely love and accept myself)
ET I feel justified in saying something negative, I’m trying to be positive, and ID&CL&AM
ET I can hardly stop myself, ID&CL&AM
(through the points):
-I want to complain!
-everyone else is complaining!
-I’m right to complain!
-But I’m trying to be more positive, and complaining is negative!
-I know it, but I want to complain anyway!
-I’m choosing not to complain just this once
-Even if everyone else is doing it
-I’m releasing this urge to complain
Then take a deep breath. Repeat if necessary, as many times as necessary throughout the day.
If you’ve been reading this series of posts on The Law of Attraction, and you’re still doubting whether the Law of Attraction is “real,” I invite you to consider a couple of things.
First, what if it IS “real,” and you ignore it – just go on doing what you’re doing? Well, then it’s likely you’ll go on getting what you’re getting, and feeling powerless. And you’ll feel like life is just happening to you. So how much could it hurt to do some experiments in manifesting – harnessing the Power of the Law of Attraction? I mean, what have you got to lose, right?
So here is a simple exercise for manifesting, just to get you started. Tomorrow morning, I want you to set an intention to manifest a cup of coffee (or tea, if you prefer). Ha! You think I’m kidding. But I’m not. You will begin to see the power of intention combined with the absolute certainty that you can get what you want. And those are the keys to tapping into the power of the Law of Attraction in order to manifest what you want.
Did you think that “to manifest” meant it would suddenly appear out of thin air when you snapped your fingers, or twitched your nose, or blinked? Sometimes, things DO seem to appear out of thin air. But more often, they manifest through a series of seemingly random, or synchronistic events. When we are consciously manifesting, it is more apparent that these events aren’t random. But when we’re living unconsciously – letting life simply happen to us, we feel like a victim – especially if it is our nature to think negative thoughts.
Getting back to the cup of coffee. I am so sure that I can manifest a cup of coffee tomorrow morning, that almost nothing could stop me. I will go downstairs and grind coffee beans and get fresh water, and put my little espresso pot together, and heat it on the stove, and in minutes I will have a cup of coffee. But if the stove was broken, or the water was shut off, or if I was out of coffee beans, or if I broke all my coffee cups, I would walk over to the coffee shop and buy a cup of coffee! There is just no doubt in my mind that I can get what I want. Try it with a cup of coffee. Let the concept sink in, using something simple. Then work your way up to manifesting bigger and bigger stuff, events, and situations.
It’s easy to manifest something when we 1) know what we want, 2) we can feel what it’s like to have it, with emotion, 3) we have no doubts that we can have it, and 4) we are ready to receive it. So if you’re wanting to manifest something, and it’s not coming into your life, one of these four elements is missing. I guarantee it. Remember, the Law of Attraction is in effect 100% of the time.
What is it you want? Did you want to win the Lottery? And you’re wondering why your numbers didn’t come up? Well, part of you didn’t really want to win. Maybe the part that thought that if you win the lottery, people will only like you for your money, or people will be asking for stuff all the time, or some other money doubt. Or part of you didn’t really believe that you could win the Lottery. The part that hears your parent’s voice saying “money doesn’t grow on trees, you know?” or the part of you that thinks that “nothing good ever happens to me.” Do you ever say “I never win anything?” You might want to change that talk and thinking. Or you’re not ready to receive that five million dollars. Did you buy a ticket? Did you take that inspired action that was indicated to you? Have you thought through what you’d do with the money, or is it just a vague need? Again, do you really WANT it? Can you feel yourself having it? Is there a part of you that thinks it might be too much trouble? Would you have to move to a new neighborhood? Would people think you’re a snob?
When we come from a place of lack, we attract more lack. So even though you want more money, you MUST get into an abundant mindset. Act as if you already have won the lottery. And I don’t mean go spend five million dollars. But get into the emotion of having the money. What is it like? How do you feel? How do you pass your days? How do you help the world? What will your legacy be? Spend time imagining what it’s like, and what you’re doing with the money. Not what it WILL be like. Get into the feeling of it, as if you have it NOW. If you think it’s going to drop from the sky with no effort, think again. Unless you’re in complete alignment with the vibration of that money – in which case, you’d probably already have it. There might be one more thing to consider. If you have a personal gift to give to the world – that you’re giving now, or haven’t yet given. And if having all this money would mean you’d stop giving your gifts, then there may be a Universal Power at play, that takes into account the Greater Good. Your gifts may be more important to the world than you having five million dollars.
In order to manifest, we must remove the majority of doubt. A little bit of doubt may niggle in, but it’s imperative to replace those limiting thoughts with positive ones. Tapping is a wonderful tool for identifying and eliminating doubts and limiting beliefs. When it comes to money, these are some of the strongest, most deeply embedded beliefs, because there is usually so much emotion attached to money memories and money stories. Be prepared to do daily tapping on this topic, for many, many weeks. If you really want something, your willingness to stick with the tapping and other manifesting tools, sends a very positive message to The Universe.
If you currently have “Money Problems,” I promise you that you have limiting beliefs around money. You may have even suffered “money trauma” – maybe a partner betrayed you, or you feel that someone screwed you over, financially. My colleague, Dawn Murray, and I are presenting the second in our High Definition Transformation, free Tele-Seminar Series. This series is called Money Blues. If you register here, you’ll get access to three 90-minute live tap-along calls, and a recording of each call, delivered to your inbox. You may even be on the call with us, as one of our Tapping Volunteers. Listeners reported some amazing results from our first series. We got so many requests for tapping on money anxiety that we decided to dedicate three calls to the subject. We hope you’ll be on the calls.
In the May 15 edition of The Authentic Zone, I talked about the Law of Attraction (The Law of Attraction – Part 1) – about energy, and vibration and frequency. I talked about how the Law of Attraction is always in action, whether we believe in it or not. I talked about how even (and especially) our thoughts are energy – and that includes conscious and unconscious thoughts. Our thoughts create our emotions, and our emotions create our frequency, and our frequency attracts things and situations that resonate at our same frequency into our lives and into our reality. Negative thoughts attract negative things and situations. Positive thoughts attract positive things and situations.
Our unconscious mind is controlling the show most of the time – about 90% (maybe more) of all our thoughts come from the unconscious mind. And most of those are negative. Imagine this: When you were young, you heard “we can’t afford that,” over and over during your childhood. You believed it. And you probably still believe it – at least unconsciously. You can check this out by telling yourself you want to buy a new Mercedes. If your first response is “I can’t afford that,” then you probably can’t afford a new Mercedes, and you still have a limiting belief about money. “I can’t afford that,” has been running, like an audio loop, in the background of your thoughts for your whole life. So what do you think that thought/belief/frequency has attracted to you? Even more “I can’t afford that.” Imagine what your life might be like today if you’d been running “I can afford that” your whole life!
Unconscious thinking shows up all day long. Have you ever found yourself singing a song over and over – it’s “stuck” in your head, and you can’t seem to stop singing it – until another song comes along to replace it, or until you get really engaged in some activity?
Or have you found yourself reliving a past experience, and having a dialogue (with yourself or someone else) in your head, until you’ve gotten yourself all worked up? Those are examples of unconscious thought patterns that definitely affect our emotions. And therefore, our energy frequency! Sometimes they come to the conscious mind (like when you realize you’re singing that song again!). But even then, most of don’t know how to deal with the thoughts or the emotions – how to change them, how to Master them.Don’t despair. It’s not too late to learn, and to change your programming – and thus, change your life!
So how do we monitor our thoughts, so as to better “control” what we manifest into our lives? And how can we more quickly manifest that which we’re wanting to manifest?
As I mentioned in Part 1 of this series, Tapping is the most effective tool I’ve found for this very thing. To get you started, go here to tap along to “I Have These Negative Thoughts and I Don’t Know What to Do About Them.” If you’ve never done Tapping before, check out my Tapping Basic video. If you’ve done Tapping before, jump right to the Tap-Along . Measure your “before” and “after” levels, as instructed in the Tap-Along, and you will begin to see how you can learn to Master Your Emotions, and Transform Your Life!
