My Top 10 Self-Care Priorities

My Top 10 Self-Care Priorities

These are some of the things I do to stay vibrant and healthy. After all, I’ve got a LOT of years ahead of me!

CARE OF THE BODY:
1-Great food – organic, fresh, local whenever possible. One RAW meal a day.
2-Plenty of rest. I like 8 or 9 hours of sleep a night, and a nap sometimes.
3-Water. I drink lots of water. I’m so fortunate to live where tap water is drinkable, but some people still like to filter it. Room temperature is best. I fill a pitcher for my office every morning. I squeeze some fresh lemon juice into the pitcher, and float some lemon slices on top.
4-Exercise & stretching. Every day. Whatever suits you. But push yourself a bit. Whenever possible, get outdoors. I’m working with a strength trainer whose clients range in age from 9 to 90!!!
5-Preventive care – Naturopathic check-up – build a relationship with your practitioner; dental check-ups (2 or 3 times a year); chiropractic care; acupunture; massage; mineral baths. I’m worth it. YOU’RE worth it!
6-Supplements: Talk to your Naturopath about what you need. Get the highest quality supplements you can afford. Bioidentical hormones, if needed (not Hormone Replacement Therapy)
7-Internal Cleanse- once per season is ideal. Hydro-colonic therapy twice a year or more.
CARE OF THE MIND AND SPIRIT:
8-Positive thinking, gratitude, love, laughter, intimacy. Find joy in the simple things.
9-Socialize with people you enjoy. Every day. Contribute to your community/tribe/the world.
10-Relieve Anxiety and Stress: EFT; Meditation. Even 3 or 4 minutes can make a huge difference; Retreat/Time alone. Ten minutes, or three days. (This is not the same as isolation or depression!).

What are YOUR self-care priorities? What would you LIKE them to be?

EATING RAW: BEET/APPLE/GINGER SMOOTHIE

EATING RAW: BEET/APPLE/GINGER SMOOTHIE

A few weeks ago I was inspired by one of my clients (her blog is amazing and inspirational. Check it out here.) to begin eating RAW. Not RAW all the time, but sometimes. I told her I would commit to one RAW meal a week. I soon found that I liked it so much that I am now eating (or drinking) one RAW meal a day.

Here’s today’s lunch:

I started with these ingredients.I’ve been making smoothies every day for lunch. Berries and juice and yogurt and hemp hearts – very sweet and nice. TODAY I decided to try a VEGETABLE-RICH SMOOTHIE. I started with a fresh, organic beet (including the greens); Granny Smith Apples (I ended up only using one of them), Juice of one lemon, 2″  of fresh ginger, 2 Tbs. of Hemp Hearts, a few ice cubes.

I chopped all the ingredients, and placed them in the blender.

Turned it on…     and voila! Loveliness! And surprisingly tasty!

Tapping Conference? In Florida?

Tapping Conference? In Florida?

I’m at a Tapping conference in Florida.I’ve never before had any desire to come to Florida. But when I heard about this 3-day workshop, I signed up. It’s all about Money and Wealth and clearing our blocks about charging what we’re worth and amassing wealth. The program is being presented by Margaret M. Lynch, one of my favorite tappers, and the inspiration behind my decision to become an EFT (Tapping) practitioner. This is so authentic for me on so many levels, not the least of which is I knew I’d come away with some great insights, breakthroughs and motivation.

The content of this 3-day workshop is well worth the cost of getting here. Meeting like-minded people from all over the world, and networking has added incredible value to the journey.

Do you know what blocks you from making all the money you think you want to make? Do you know what vows you took as a child – to uphold your family’s beliefs about money? Well, if you’re not making all you’d like to make, it’s because you have negative beliefs about money. Tapping is great for clearing them.

We’re also talking about MasterMind groups and mentors – both important when you’re setting out to change the world. We’ve created a MasterMind group from some of the attendees. We will meet via Skype, as we live all over the place. But we each feel the need and desire to be held accountable, and to be called out when we’re not living up to our potential.

I’ve got to get back to the conference – I wrote this on the lunch break.

Am I Being Authentic?

“Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice.” Steve Jobs

For those of us who are Intentional Authentics (learning to be ourselves), it’s difficult sometimes, to know when we’re really being real. Our habits are so ingrained, so habitual, that we get confused about who we really are. Don’t worry – this will get easier as you practice authenticity.

When referring to characteristics or traits, I often hear people say “Well, that’s just who I am!” I don’t buy it. When we search deep within us, we begin to realize that “that’s just who I’ve become.” Many of our characteristics are downloaded into us at an early, early age, when we don’t have the cognizant ability (brain power) to think rationally and say “No, I don’t want to be that person!”. We can’t help it. Up until we’re about 6 years old, our brains function on a “sub-conscious” level – our brainwaves are the same as if we were in a hypnotic trance, and we’re very susceptible to suggestion.

I’m sitting at my local coffee shop, and at the next table is a woman with her young daughter (maybe 3 years old). Another woman came to join them, and the little girl acted “shy.” Her mother announced “she’s shy” to the other woman, and proceeded to discuss how this little girl is much more shy than the girl’s older sister. The mother has then proceeded to dominate the conversation with the other woman – mostly gossiping. This little girl may well grow up being “shy.” After all, it’s her label – she’s probably heard it for years already. And with a chatty mom, how’s a kid supposed to find her voice?

These are the types of things that muddy up the lens of our authenticity. We will begin to learn to clean that lens, slowly and surly, to discover a clear inner vision.

I invite you to begin to question who you have become. Are you the person you want to be? It’s not too late to find your authentic self!
