A Simple Solution to Holiday Overwhelm
We’re already well into the Holiday Season. If you are feeling overwhelmed, I’m going to share a very quick solution.
“No.” It’s as simple as that. “No.” You can make it “No, thank you,” if you like.
Try saying these phrases out loud:
“No, I won’t be buying as many presents this year.”
“No, I can’t attend that party.”
“No, I don’t care for a cocktail or glass of wine.”
“No, I don’t care for dessert.”
“No, I can’t pick up that item, it’s not on my way.”
“No, I don’t want to.”
You don’t have to say “No” to everything. But consider saying “No” to a few things. Is there anything that you’ve said “Yes” to that you don’t really want to do? You can change your mind!
Click to tweetIf you feel resistance to saying “No,” I invite you to take a few moments to breathe deeply and slowly and ask yourself “Why?”. Be kind and gentle with yourself as you do this inquiry.
Here’s to a more relaxed and joyous holiday!
